Help Us Promote Homeownership in Iowa!

The Iowa Association of REALTORS® is sponsoring a Home Ownership Matters for Everyone (HOME) video contest open to all IAR members.

This is a great opportunity to share your creativity, talents, enthusiasm, and great ideas on why homeownership is important. Challenge your colleagues to enter the contest or create a video together. Click here for a flyer to share with your colleagues.

Prizes
The top three video entries will be awarded the following prizes (see below for judging process and criteria):

1st Place: Kodak Playtouch Video Camera. + $25 gift card to Amazon.
Free convention registration + 2 nights at Sheraton Hotel + 1 ticket to Annual Awards Luncheon

Runner Up: $50 credit at IAR’s REALTOR® Store. Free convention registration.

Guidelines
Your video entry must follow these guidelines:

Topic: - Benefits of home ownership to any or all of the following: individuals, families, communities, economy, etc. and working with a local REALTOR® to help them pursue their home owning goals.

Required Phrase: Video includes the written or spoken phrase “benefits of home ownership” and/or “contact a local REALTOR® today”

Length: The recommended length is 90 seconds or less. The maximum length allowed is 2 minutes.

Format: Tinypic.com allows for any video file format

 

Judging Process & Selection of Winning Videos
Video entries will be judged by a selection panel of representatives from the IAR including staff, board members, and Public Relations Committee members.

Video entries will be judged on the basis of creativity/originality; technical accuracy; visual and audio quality; and message content. Judging criteria will include:

  • Creativity/Originality
    - Video uses creativity, artistic expression, and innovation in conveying its message.
    - Audio and visuals enhance the message
  • Technical Accuracy
    - Any statistics cited on the benefits of home ownership are accurate and sources are identified.
  • Visual and Audio Quality
    - Audio quality: Dialogue can be easily understood; music and/or sound effects are used effectively
    - Visual quality: Visual effects contribute to the message
  • Message Content
    - The message effectively promotes greater awareness about the benefits of home ownership and encourages viewers to contact a local REALTOR® to help them pursue their home owning goals.
    - Video includes the written or spoken phrases "benefits of home ownership or benefits of owning a home and REALTOR®”

The IAR reserves the right to not select a winner if none of the entries are determined of sufficient quality based on the judging criteria outlined above.

Use of Video Entries
Winning videos will be posted online, shown at the IAR convention, and may be used in future IAR promotional products and advertisements.

Disclaimer: REALTOR® member contest winners will be acknowledged for their creation. By submitting a video to this contest, you grant to the IAR, as well as entities authorized by IAR, irrevocable, royalty-free license to copy, distribute, modify, display and perform publicly, and otherwise use your video for any promotional, advertising and educational purpose and in any media format. IAR may use for free for any purpose the IAR deems worthy.
