Council Bluffs Civil Rights Commission: The Council Bluffs and the Iowa Civil Rights Commissions are charged with enforcing the Iowa Civil Rights Act of 1965 and the local city ordinance, which prohibit discrimination in the areas of housing, employment, public accommodations, education, or credit on the basis of age, color, creed, familial status, gender identity, marital status, mental disability, national origin, physical disability, race, religion, sex, and sexual orientation.
